Automotive Technical Advisor – Montreal (Confidential position)
Job description We are recruiting for a major player in the automotive industry, based in Montreal, an experienced Technical Advisor. As part of a confidential mandate, you will leverage your technical expertise and service orientation to support sales teams and after-sales service, as well as our clients and partners, in offering effective solutions that meet sector standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide top-tier technical support to customers, sales teams, and after-sales service.
- Diagnose and analyze vehicle issues and their mechanical, electronic, and electrical systems; interpret fault codes and perform functional tests using OEM and generic diagnostic tools.
- Suggest suitable technical solutions considering performance, safety, and compliance requirements.
- Train and assist internal teams on emerging technologies and products.
- Collaborate with parts, warranty, and service departments to expedite problem resolution.
- Participate in technological monitoring and report field feedback for product and process improvement.
- Write and update technical documents and guides intended for the distribution network and customers.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a technical consulting or support role in the automotive industry.
- Relevant technical diploma (electromechanics, automotive maintenance, mechanical/electrical) or equivalent university degree; equivalent experience accepted.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems (mechanical, electronic, electrical), understanding of network architectures (CAN, OBD diagnostics), and familiarity with diagnostic tools.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to simplify technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in French; English is a plus.
- Analytical mindset, rigor, autonomy, and ability to handle multiple files simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
- Availability for occasional travel to clients or partners as needed.
