Mechanic

Position: Automotive and Heavy-Duty Mechanic - Grande-Rivière Airport

Location: Grande-Rivière Airport
Type: Permanent, full-time
Hours: 5 days of work followed by 2 days off, 10 hours per day

Remuneration:

• Starting from $93,831 up to $122,400 per year, depending on experience and performance, including a disparity bonus.

Main responsibilities:

• Install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain mechanical and hydraulic assets, air conditioning systems, and mobile tires
• Monitor maintenance and repair needs for heavy equipment, light vehicles, and other facility equipment
• Generate, manage, and document work orders, inventories, and repair records in the management platform
• Write maintenance reports, update inventory data, and order parts
• Operate snow removal equipment
• Perform any other related tasks

Desired profile:

Skills and requirements:

• Vocational diploma (DEP) in heavy machinery mechanics or equivalent combination of training and experience
• 3 years of experience in heavy and light vehicle mechanics (gasoline and diesel) and major systems
• Physical ability to lift and carry loads up to 50 kg
• Practical understanding of hydraulics and gear/transmission systems
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, plans, and technical drawings
• Ability to diagnose and perform technical research on computers
• Class 5 driver’s license; Class 1 or 2 is an asset
• Experience with manual transmission

Technical skills:

• Diagnosis and repair of gasoline engines and injection systems
• Diagnosis and repair of anti-pollution systems
• Diagnosis and repair of hybrid or electric vehicles
• Diagnosis and repair of air conditioning and heating systems
• Diagnosis and repair of electrical and electronic systems
• ECM/PCM/ECU programming
• Repair of suspension, steering, and hydraulic brake systems
