Experienced Automotive Mechanic / Technician

Valleyfield Nissan is seeking an experienced Automotive Mechanic / Technician to join a dynamic team. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience and a passion for maintenance and repair of new and used vehicles. You will work on Nissan vehicles and other makes, ensuring accurate diagnostics, quality repairs, and reliable customer service.

Job Description

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles according to manufacturer standards and safety requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance operations, adjustments, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Use diagnostic tools and specialized equipment to identify faults and propose effective solutions.
• Prepare vehicles for inspections and road tests after repairs.
• Document interventions accurately and communicate clearly with the team and customers.
• Collaborate with other technicians and service advisors to ensure a smooth workflow and high quality.
• Follow safety procedures and comply with current environmental standards.

Technical Skills and Competencies

• Diagnosis and repair of gasoline engines, anti-pollution systems, and electrical/electronic systems.
• Diagnosis and repair of hybrid or electric vehicles.
• Diagnosis and maintenance of air conditioning and heating systems.
• Diagnosis and repair of injection systems (gasoline) and suspension/steering.
• Repair and maintenance of hydraulic braking systems.
• ECU programming (ECM / PCM / ECU).

Candidate Profile

• DEP in automotive mechanics (or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years of practical experience.
• Good knowledge of diagnostic systems and modern tools.
• Knowledge of modern vehicles, including electrical and electronic systems.
• Valid driver’s license (Class 5 in Quebec).
• Ability to work in a team, customer service skills, and capacity to prioritize in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and reliability.
• Fluency in French; English is a plus.
