Job Description
Experienced Mechanic – Auto Workshop (Commercial Vehicles)
Garage R. Ethier & Fils, a family-owned workshop now in its third generation, is seeking an experienced mechanic to join its dynamic team. We specialize in repairing commercial vehicles, primarily North American brands, and are expanding with talents recognized for their expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately diagnose the causes of breakdowns and estimate necessary parts and work.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on gasoline, hybrid/electric, and diesel engines (light vehicles, vans, medium-duty vehicles).
- Work on all systems (injection, electrical, air conditioning, etc.) regardless of the manufacturer.
- Diagnose and repair internal components (engine, differential, transmission) when relevant.
- Advise the technical advisor on additional work, unnecessary repairs, or unfeasible repairs.
- Actively seek to improve and enhance knowledge.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and follow safety standards.
Profile and Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive/mechanical work.
- DEP in automotive mechanics or heavy vehicle mechanics.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license (manual driving knowledge appreciated).
- Personal toolbox and CPA companion card.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and devices, and to conduct research and repairs independently.
- Knowledge of anti-pollution systems and injection systems (diesel and gasoline); ECM/PCM/ECU programming.
- Assets: experience with trucks/diesel; halocarbon certification.
- Additional skills: work on electrical/electronic systems and air conditioning systems.
Working Conditions
- Permanent full-time position; schedule 4 days/week: Monday to Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
